President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Engr Muhammad Saeed Shiekh has said that Ministry of Foreign affairs and Ministry of Commerce has assured full Co-operation to facilitate FCCI delegations visiting various markets of the World. Further he acknowledged about his meetings with Director General Europe-1 Shafaqat Ali Khan & Federal Secretary Commerce.

President FCCI Engr Muhammad Saeed Shiekh claimed that both the senior Government officials have accepted their invitation to visit FCCI in the near future. The matter of visa problem faced by FCCI delegates to Spain was also discussed wherein DG Europe-1 assured to look into the matter and inform FCCI accordingly.

Explaining about his meeting with Secretary Commerce he said that the matter of taking various measures to enhance export of Pakistan was also discussed. Similarly, the matter of refund claims to exporters was also discussed, he added. He said that Secretary Commerce informed that they are already in touch with the Ministry of Finance and hoped that partial payments would be started soon. Regarding Export packages of Rs 180 billion announced by the Government, he said that he emphasised during the meeting that the mechanism of rebate payment be based on monthly basis. He suggested that the condition of 10% increase in export be withheld as exports are already declining.

He said that he also emphasised ban of export of cotton and cotton yarn, so that yarn is obediently available in the local market. However, in case of shortage, import is allowed on zero rated. He said that he has pleaded to the authorities that such measures would result in improving the export.
